Sweet Water Organics raises fish and vegetables in a “bio-filtration” aquaculture system. This means that the fish waste is cleansed by biological means, with the help of millions of beneficial microbes that are residents of our pea gravel and plant soil and roots. The plant soil is the product of a “vermiculture” process that makes soil anew by composting urban waste streams containing carbon and nitrogen ingredients.
